My guest today is the lovely Layne MacAdam

I am delighted to welcome Layne MacAdam to the blog today. This lovely post is my final guest post for this Christmas blog.

Thank you Daisy so much for having me today.

The festive season is my favorite time of the year hands down. I love the hustle and bustle with all the preparation involved leading up to Christmas day. As a lot of people would be aware, Australia celebrates the festive season in summer. Although most still go with the English tradition of a hot dinner, many of the younger generation have started their own tradition of having cold.

Because of our fantastic coastline we have the most amazing choice of seafood. Prawns, lobster, crab, oysters, and salmon are very popular.

My immediate family kicks off the season with a delicious hot dinner on Christmas Eve. We exchange gifts and usually settle down and listen to Christmas carols or perhaps watch an old Christmas movie. Then at midnight we go to church and give thanks for the meaning of Christmas.

Christmas Day is with all of our extended family, aunties, uncles, cousins and any friends who may find themselves at a loose end. There can be anywhere between twenty to thirty people attend. Lots of good food and good company make for a very satisfying day.  This year will be an extra special one for my family, my niece has just given birth to a beautiful little girl and so the family expands and the many blessings we receive have increased ten fold.

My give away to celebrate the Advent blog is a $10 gift card from Amazon.

When schoolteacher Kathy Bellamy moved from Louisiana to Coronado, she didn’t expect her secret dream or her worst nightmare to become a reality.

Kathy longs for the fairytale. An old-fashioned girl saving herself for the right guy, after one date with Navy SEAL Shane Jackson, she trashes her values and willingly tumbles into the sack without a thought for the consequences.

Confirmed bachelor and relationship cynic, Jackson has no room in his life for a permanent woman. Temporary liaisons are all he is up for. Cocky and self-assured, he believes he can pick a likeminded player at a glance. So when he discovers Kathy is the complete antithesis of what he believed her to be, he is thrown into a tailspin.

But before long and way out of his comfort zone, he finds himself knee deep in a relationship he can’t quite seem to end.

Kathy’s love life is evolving parallel with a nightmare. The object of a maniac’s obsession, when she throws caution to the wind and acts out of character, her actions are seen as a betrayal by her stalker that demand retribution in blood. Abducted at knifepoint and taken to a secret location, can Shane, who is the ultimate predator, find and rescue her before it’s too late?

  1. Lovely post Layne, I love to see how others celebrate Christmas, but apart from the sea food and the heat (yum to both) it doesn’t sound so very different from our traditional Christmas – family and friends.

    Great book Layne.

  2. Oh my! I love a book about Navy SEALs. Adding this one to my TBR list. Love your description of how your Christmas looks. Time with family is wonderful, isn’t it? I live so far away from mine that we don’t get together often. I miss the days when we’d travel as a family to spend time with relatives.
